Hello Orble, anyone there?
February 15th 2011 23:49
About five weeks ago, I submitted a post to the Orble Writer's Forum, for years the go-to place for Orblers with questions of any sort.
About three weeks ago I submitted a second post asking if the first one had been received.
The silence continued, and about two weeks ago I submitted a third post asking if anyone was monitoring Writer's Forum, checking posts awaiting moderation. The same day, I sent a similar message to Orble via its Contact Us link.
Silence.
Meanwhile, I am still no longer getting blog post votes from outside Orble, the subject of my first Writer's Forum query. It seems like a server problem; whatever is causing it, it's serious.
The last Writer's Forum post was in November. Anyone there?

And the Pinteresque silence continues. Have Jon and Charles cleaned out the orble AdSense accounts and fled to the Caymans? Have they been kidnapped by Collingwood supporters demanding a ransom of eight premiership points? Have they been toppled by a bloodless coup of disaffected Orbellians?
Are we all alone here, Norm? Are we?

Through what channel did you contact Charles, Andy?

Might be the way to go, since the front end doesn't seem to be working.

Getting people to take over inactive blogs is a core interest for Orble. Worrying!
Good luck,
Chris

Looks like there's still nobody home! I've had no reply from support or to a post on the Writer's Forum. Shame when a site like this starts to go downhill.

Yes, the silence is deafening. I had decided to quit Orble, buy my own domain names, get my own provider to host them, set up Wordpress and go it alone.
But then it all looked like a rather large learning curve for a less-than-savvy-technophobe like me, and I decided reluctantly to keep plodding on here.

I will go down the Wordpress road at some point, and if as expected I encounter serious confusion, I'll be happy to let you know

I have heard the word Tumblr mentioned a bit, but then you may already know about that. Don't know much about it.
I would also add, that this year alone, I have already made half my entire Orble earnings (which is pittence) on my own blog. It's nice to cut out one more middle man, but then the comparison is a little unfair, as things have been quiet here.

As I was browsing around another post yesterday, I saw John mention such a fact (after I had promoted mine here). I had also read of such Orblers' accounts being suspended or banned and/or their posts of promotion being deleted for doing such a thing.
Well, the latter has happened on this thread, and it also happened to me a few months back on another thread. I wouldn't have promoted any outside material had I known, BUT THIS ASIDE, it seems John or Charles, or some other moderator (don't mean to name call), has been reading this thread, while your calls go unanswered (I'm just assuming you guys didn't delete part of this thread).
I like Orble, but find this kind of behaviour disappointing.
My five cents.

That's a shame that noone is monitoring the Writers Forum.
I noticed in Orble News a hell of a lot of posts announcing ongoing server issues.
Cheers
