The word around the Twittersphere, the world's best source of breaking news, is that Google is currently rolling out a PageRank update. Expect to meet raw euphoria or suicidal tendencies wherever you go in the next 24 hours.
Almost as big a talking point is the fact that the update comes almost exactly three months since the last one.
In the past, Google's PageRank updates have arrived with all the predictability of solar flares, so the WWW industry is abuzz with the Big Question: is Google going to do everyone a favour and update PageRank at regular intervals?
PageRank, for those not aware, is a numerical value assigned to web pages measuring their relative popularity. For web-based businesses, a rise in your PageRank is a big deal.
